Shelter in Place

Someday, scientists will study our behavior while we shelter in place. They’ll examine our diets, measure our productivity, judge our level of compliance. Scientists will want to know: were we happier, healthier or more sane during lockdown?

Every spring, the cherry trees on our street burst into bloom. This is the first spring in ages that we’re home to witness this. I wonder what else I’ve missed while running around. This lockdown is forcing me to learn new habits like having A Covid Conversation.

Perhaps that’s a topic you’d rather avoid. Fair enough. In that case, check out this blog post I wrote for the International Writers’ Collective: How to write historical fiction.
