The Wild, Wild West... or Romania?
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. This is Norocel and E, in Tulcea, Romania. They recently participated in a regional competition for young riders sponsored by Real Racing Stables of Tulcea. Norocel is NOROC’s mascot. He was formerly abused and neglected before being rescued by the stable owner, a vet, more than 10 years ago. E is a young girl who lives in one of the orphanage centers in Tulcea, a victim of trauma herself. The outcome of the competition is not the most important thing here. Through NOROC’s partnership with Real Racing, E and Norocel have become partners, also. This relationship has helped E learn discipline, as well as how to love and care for Norocel. In the process they have formed an emotional bond with each other. The unconditional love shown by Norocel allows orphaned and abandoned children like E find the strength and courage to navigate difficult life circumstances. “All of God’s creatures got a place in the choir!” Thanks be to God.
