This year, the NOROC staff has started off on a great foot! Even when the weather is chilly, NOROC continues to do great work with the children in their small groups and with Ukrainian refugees.

KRISTEN ARRIVED!

Kristen Harris, our new mission co-worker, made it to Romania on January 19 for her fist long-term stay! She is living in the NOROC office apartment so that she can be right in the middle of all things NOROC during her time here.

Did you know…. NOROC’s staff has a weekly meeting each Monday at the office? We share what events occurred last week, discuss the schedule for the coming days, & brainstorm ways to help the children/refugees we serve.

LITTLE UNION DAY…

…is a national holiday in Romania celebrated on January 24 each year. There was an event in the city center of Tulcea with live music and dancing from traditional groups. Liliana Petrichei, one of our small group leaders, took a few teenagers to the festivities. Lili was also interviewed on camera about the event by a local news crew!

UKRAINIAN REFUGEE UPDATE

One of the ways NOROC continues to help Ukrainian refugees is by purchasing and delivering groceries. Large orders of groceries are delivered weekly to an encampment close to Tulcea on the Ukrainian side of the border. Other deliveries are made to individual families residing in Tulcea as needed (pictured).

WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

There is a Bible study group of teenagers that meets each week at Casa Noastră, a NOROC-owned property. Father Adrian, a Romanian Orthodox priest with degrees in psychology and social work, is our leader for this group. One week this month, he invited a social work school graduate to share about his past drug abuse and what his life looks like today.
