Wow - What a ride the last few months have been.

Back in July and just as we were starting to really miss our wonderful customers, we got the go-ahead to open up and welcome you all back in.

At first, we wondered if anyone would venture back. It didn't take long for us to find out as our regulars started dropping in for a meal or a drink as soon as they could.

They were soon to be joined by the 1000s of people visiting North Devon and Exmoor in search of some much needed fresh air.

Throughout we have been adapting to ensure we put in place measures that keep our customers, staff and community safe so that we can continue to be here for you.

And we will carry on doing so. We are so grateful to be part of this community and the support you have shown during these uncertain times.

We are looking forward to welcoming you over the coming months so we can replenish you as much as you need.

Thank you all for the support and friendly smiles you have given us.

See you soon.

Esther, Kemal and the team.

Eggs in Purgatory

This simple eggy treat is perfect for breakfast, lunch or a light evening meal. The recipe comes from our Italian cousins and is enjoyed by all ages.

4 eggs
1/2 Onion finely chopped
1 Clove garlic finely chopped
1 Tin of tomatoes
Fresh Basil
Parmesan Cheese

Gently fry the onions and garlic in some olive oil in a thick bottomed pan.
Pour in the tomatoes and half a tin of water and bring to a simmer.
Season the sauce.
Make a well in the sauce and crack in an egg and repeat.
Cook slowly until the egg whites are firm.
Add fresh basil and parmesan to suit your taste.

Serve with toast brushed with olive oil.

A great dish for scaling up or down. It is also perfect for experimenting with, maybe add some spicy sausage to the sauce or even a dash of wine.
