Hey, <<First Name>>!
My mission isn't really to make New York less lonely.
It's to make the world less lonely.
Until now, I've been scared to expand The Joy List to other cities. I don't know how to manage a team. I'm nervous to hand my baby off to other people. And, if I'm being really honest, I don't want to share the spotlight of what I've created.
But this isn't about me.
It's about empowering others to create their own community, and shift our culture globally from being centered around drinking and surface-level conversations to prioritizing meaningful connection.
With The Joy List, people in cities around the world will feel more seen, heard, and understood.
Want to be part of that mission, <<First Name>>? Now you can!
Sign up to lead The Joy List in your city, or be notified when we come to your zip code.
I'm really, truly excited to create something beautiful with all of you. And I need help. So! If you have:
- Connections to religious/interfaith organizations that might want to fund this
- Resources for expanding a project to other cities, especially a newsletter
- Connections to brands who might want to partner on the project
Please let me know! For now, I've got a lil' gift for you: all the community-building resources from my book research, as well as notes from the church planting conference I went to this week. (More on that next Monday.)
Anywho, onto the GIF and the fun things! Take it away, how I feel about watching Harry Potter movies for the rest of December:

NYC Sisters Swamp Together
You've probably heard me talk about swamping. It's the practice of women getting together to dance out their emotions. We scream. We hit things. We cry. And we do it together.
This event is for female-identifying folk only. Before the swamp, read up on the practice here and check out the book that inspired it here.
$5. 5 to 7 PM. Ev and Co, 64 East 4th St. Info here.
Join me on a women's retreat! I've had two friends recommend this gathering, which I took as a sign. Come play with me in the woods, eat delicious food, and tell stories around a fire. This is my happy place.
Looking for a space to host your next meeting? Code JOYLIST gets you 50% off at Meetinplace in the Financial District! I recently met their team, and they are SO kind it is ridiculous. If you're looking for a gorgeous room that you can book by the hour, support these folks! (Plus, with the code you can get your own private room for $30. That's the best deal you're gonna find in NYC!)
The New York Times wrote about men's groups: And a lot of people from our community are featured in it! Check out the article here. If you start tearing up from pride, don't worry. I did, too.
