Floating Museum presents a new public art installation and project titled Floating Archive that prototypes a pavilion sculpture in Calumet Park on Chicago’s southeast side. The work is a platform for engagement with art and community programming, responding to the neighborhood’s rich history with installations, exhibitions, and changing architectures based on participant’s and partner’s interests.

Project partners include the DuSable Museum, Chicago Park District, the Southeast Chicago Historical Society, The Arts Palette, and the Art Institute of Chicago’s Education Department.

This is Floating Museum’s first public art structure and will eventually move through Chicago and up the Chicago River to DuSable Park.
