Welcome to the Roller Skate Life Newsletter September 2018.

This newsletter is presented by the Es Quint Foundation, powered by Quadsk8 International and supported by Ginger Skates.

Thank you for supporting our goals and activities. In case you just joined in, welcome on board and may your journey through life be a soulful one!

Learn how to roll and soon you will fly!

As you progress in skills and comfort over time, the more roller skating will feel like floating through air. But the absolute one and most important condition to grasp that feeling, is that you have to dedicate yourself to diligent training for a certain period of time. Only then and then only, will flying become a serious option.
No need to rush yourself through the pace of your own learningrhythm, speed and style. We all have different ways and tempos of learning and processing, in order to get to a next plateau.

A good trainer accepts and respects the state of a trainee at all times, even when the trainee is still going through a phase of acceptance and (often times) frustration, about his or her own learning path.
And doing so, the trainee is guided safe and thoughtful through the different stages necessary to adapt, grow and flow.

Or in other words, to paraphrase Nietschze: He or she who would learn to fly one day, must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance and roll; one cannot fly into flying.

Fresh, familiar, long-time-no-see and goofy faces; The Summer of 2018 turned out to be one of the best in terms of good weather and outdoor roller skate gatherings. And like mentioned before, the awesome recordbreaking Summer days of 2018 were well spent on the European continent, both on and off wheels.
As we notice a growing international interest in roller skating activities and culture, we are very proud to add a little of our own flavour of knowledge, substance and perception on (rhythm) roller skating, through years of experience.
The year 2020 is our marker for some major changes with 20/20 vision.
Until then, we'll be ridin` & stridin` hard on this soulful path and embrace whatever the future has in store!

A new Roller Skate Venue has opened up very recently in utrecht, Rocking Rollerz.
Lots of space and a very smooth floor, what more can you ask for?
Oh yes, of course; the answer to that would be `some fantastic roller skate grooves.`
Well, you can't have it all, but it's worth checking out and who knows you might get lucky!

Anchor Tap Jive & Pronator Slide.

Anchor tappin` in a circle right after a stray shuffle variation. The variation in this case being the Pronator Slide. Yes we know, totally not a sexy name -to say in the least- at all! But as we have stated before, we don't name to claim. We label techniques, riffs and routines solely as reference to our own catalog. That said, Pronator Slide refers to the stance of the foot being in pronation as it is slided towards the standing leg. Right after the slide, only the inside backweel is used as an anchor, while the rhythm skaters tap their skate to the floor, moving in circular direction.

And of course a genuine Dennis Brown groove on any particular day, will lift up any spirit and bring out the best in anyone anytime any day, when love has found its way!

New locations and new features included in upcoming October Roller Skate Training Weekend Seminar in the Hague, The Netherlands!

We welcome you all to experience a deep immersion, into this beautiful art & lifestyle of Rhythm Roller Skating as presented by the Es Quint Foundation.
In this edition we will travel through time, reminiscing on quintessential moments in roller skating history, respecting the entire musical spectrum that goes along with it.

Music in any way, shape or form (a beat, groove, flow, tone, melody, or entire piece), is the most powerful anchor tool to the human brain.

The most important groove & rhythm section in the world?
That would be the beating of your own heart in relation to the different frequencies of your own brain.

Rhythm Roller Skating has a unique way - unlike any other discipline - of bringing the heart and the brain in coherence. Therefore, Rhythm Roller Skating is the Quintessence of Groove.

And eventually, through diligent practice, you will experience a state of absolute free flow motion.
* In this edition, the Saturday Night special will transpire in an unusually cool setting, in the center of The Hague, in walking distance from the training center.

* Sunday Cinema at 10.30h in The Hague couldn't be more perfect after the Jam party, with the screening of the 2017 documentary Roller Dreams. A journey through time, music and history.

Sooo let's go, get off your ass and JAM!
