UTM + cUAS = Whole Pizza
ANRA CEO Amit Ganjoo wrote an article talking about how adding UTM to counter UAS will result in a whole pizza, instead of just a single slice. Read this interesting take on how understanding airspace can be analogous to pizza slices by clicking here.
SmartSkies™ offers Integrated LAANC Authorizations
ANRA Technologies is pleased to announce the addition of the FAA’s Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) to our SmartSkies™ family of UTM and Mission Management platforms for enterprise customers. LAANC capability will be available in the SmartSkies™ application to pilots operating under the FAA ‘s sUAS Rule (Part 107) and will support both near real-time authorization for operations under 400 feet in controlled airspace around airports or “further coordination request” if users need to fly above the designated altitude ceiling in a UAS Facility Map.
FAA UTM Pilot Program (UPP) Phase 2 Executive Showcase
UPP2 testing concluded recently and ANRA was privileged to be powering the tests at both of the selected FAA UAS test sites. It was followed by a virtual showcase intended to update government stakeholders on NextGen UPP Phase 2 efforts. The outcomes of UPP Phase 2 include technology transfers for implementation of enterprise FAA infrastructure and findings for consideration during policy development.
Standards Landscape – What is the next for Global Harmonization?
ANRA CEO and GUTMA Board Member, Amit Ganjoo on October 27th moderated a panel of industry leaders from EUROCAE, ISO and ASTM as they discussed the challenges of UTM global harmonization and the initiatives that the different standardization bodies are running to tackle them. It is crucial to engage with all standard development organizations to ensure compatibility of their work and avoid duplication of efforts. These needs were raised by several members within GUTMA and the webinar session was GUTMA’s first step in this direction!
On Thursday, November 12th, Amit moderated the ATCA Roundtable focused on “Safety and Efficiency - A Mutually Beneficial Outcome.” The session focused on the new innovations influencing the NAS, and the fact that it is critical to maintain safety as the north star, especially as hundreds of thousands of new drones and the inexperienced pilots who fly them can go from checkout to airspace in a matter of minutes. The panel explored how safety cannot excuse unnecessary processes. How do we balance the need to drive efficiency in processes while maintaining a best in class approach to safety? Can we ensure safety and also be open to novel ideas at the same time?
Find a Problem, Look for a solution and you will succeed
Amit was the Chief Guest at Bennett University’s “freshers” welcome week for 2020. Amit touched on quite a few topics ranging from COVID to Entrepreneurship, Autonomy and more.
“Entrepreneurship is great. Find a problem, look for a solution and you will absolutely succeed. Do not become a solution looking for a problem.”
This was one piece of advice Amit Ganjoo gave students as they embark on this crucial phase of their life. Read the complete transcript of the insightful talk online on the Times of India website.
As always, please reach out to us with your questions, thoughts, comments, feedback, and one of our team members will be glad to engage with you.
