Humongous UTM testing and the Boss Stays on the Board
Dear <<First Name>>
COVID-19: Our own Amit Ganjoo, CEO and Founder of ANRA Technologies, recently gave an interview for Unmanned Airspace detailing the importance of interoperability between the drone and telecom industries.
“Many people are talking about using drones for crowd separation, social distancing, scanning, spraying – but the one service that really stands out and the one that’s really valuable for a Covid-kind of response is beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) delivery, which includes moving medical samples or delivering medical supplies and other critical, humanitarian services. I believe this is going to spur things into developing streamlined processes to get approval for BVLOS operations,” said Amit Ganjoo.
With Covid-19 dominating the news cycle, it is no surprise that the good drones can do has come into the spotlight. ANRA is actively working on key capabilities to support use cases such as disaster response, and food and medical supply delivery, while driving the need for interoperability and safety standards.
ANRA & Switch To Commence UAS Tests At Unprecedented Scale: Switch, in partnership with ANRA Technologies and the Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems (NIAS), has been announced as the recipient of a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) contract by the FAA. The FAA awarded $848,685 towards an overall contract of $1.79 million to demonstrate and validate UAS Traffic Management (UTM) technology in coordination with NIAS test site.
ANRA and Switch will conduct demonstrations and validation of new unmanned systems, in association with NIAS, to estimate requirements and provide insight into redundancy, bandwidth, cost estimates, compute, and data storage requirements to operate the UTM safely and securely on a national scale in a scalable and cost-effective manner.
BVLOS Deliveries: DRONELIFE recently highlighted two consortia, both led by ANRA technologies, that have been granted exemptions to fly BVLOS operations in India. ANRA will focus on delivery of medical supplies, and in a partnership with Swiggy, one of India’s largest food delivery platforms, contactless delivery of food. ANRA SmartSkies platform has a traffic management and registration capability which links into existing enterprise drone management software. When an enterprise customer is placing a drone delivery order, it gets dispatched and managed through an enterprise workflow system that can now be integrated in the traffic management portion so the whole process becomes streamlined.
GUTMA new board of directors: The Global UTM Association (GUTMA) is a non-profit consortium of worldwide Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) stakeholders. GUTMA members have elected the new GUTMA board directors and co-presidents for a two-year period from June 2020 through June 2022. Our CEO, Amit Ganjoo will continue to serve on the board of directors. Congrats boss!
As always, please reach out with your questions, comments, feedback and one of our team members will be happy to engage with you.
