Accelerated Math Instruction Possibly Discontinued - (5/13 Deadline)
The California Department of Education has a new proposed Math Pathway that seeks to eliminate accelerated math in California schools. This primarily would affect middle and high school students, so this is your future!

The Instructional Quality Commission (IQC) meeting will be on Wednesday, May 19, and will be discussing the elimination of access to advanced math opportunities for California’s diverse gifted and advanced mathematicians.
California’s Gifted and Talented students need you to speak up for them by doing the following:
Email the Instructional Quality Commission (IQC) by 12 pm PT on Thursday, May 13. Ask for the removal of language that denies California’s diverse gifted and talented learners access to advanced instruction. Comments should be submitted at: firstname.lastname@example.org. When you write please include your first and last name, organizational affiliation (if applicable), and agenda item #3.
Attend the IQC virtual meeting on May 19 from 9 am-2 pm PT. (Public comments will be limited to one minute per person.)
