Next Strive Virtual Learning Starts Sept 13
What if you could change your life in four weeks?

STRIVE is more than just job training. It offers the opportunity to move beyond barriers that are holding you back! During this 4 week online training participants receive:
  • Career path mentoring
  • Attitudinal and Job Readiness Training
  • Occupational skills training opportunities
  • Job placement assistance
  • Microsoft Teams Training
Classes are taught virtually via Microsoft Teams. Loaner tablets are available. Graduates receive a stipend of $125, an additional $125 when employed and up to $90 for Trainings/certifications.

Peer Outreach Specialist

The Peer Outreach Program at DC Public Library engages with library customers experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Meet with a DC Public Library Certified Peer Specialist if you need:

  • Help with an ID and other critical documents
  • Assistance with finding medical care
  • Ideas for housing or locating employment
  • Help with returning to the community after time in jail or prison
  • Support while experiencing homelessness

COVID Rental Assistance Program
Get Help Paying Rent and Utility Bills

STAY DC is the District’s new emergency rental assistance program to help households unable to pay rent and utilities due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Learn more by visiting or calling 833-4-STAYDC.
Virtual Yoga
Wednesday, September 1 | 12pm

Take a midday break to breathe, stretch and reset with 30 minutes of gentle yoga from our friends at Yoga District. Join the live virtual class Wednesdays at noon on the DC Public Library Facebook page. A range of options will be provided for participants of all fitness levels
