  • Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties
  • Salary $16.56 per hour
Motor Vehicle Operator (Job ID# 13646)
  • Drives/Operates the various vehicles over the assigned routes with a crew of employees.
  • Salary $21.78 per hour
Sanitation Worker  (Job ID# 13647)
  • Member of crew responsible for clearing leaves from designated locations on assigned routes 
  • Salary $18.04 per hour

STRIVE is more than just job training. It offers the opportunity to move beyond barriers that are holding you back! During this 4 week online training participants receive:
  • Career path mentoring
  • Attitudinal and Job Readiness Training
  • Occupational skills training opportunities
  • Job placement assistance
  • Microsoft Teams Training
Classes are taught virtually via Microsoft Teams. Loaner tablets are available. Graduates receive a stipend of $125, an additional $125 when employed and up to $90 for Trainings/certifications.

Green Jobs Training

No-Cost Green Training Opportunities for CBE Contractors

The Sustainable Energy Infrastructure Capacity Building and Pipeline Program (SEICBP) is a no-cost training, credentialing, and certification program designed to connect District businesses and residents to various topics within the energy efficiency industry to expand local skills and expertise. Train Green with expert instructors and accredited institutions through a variety of courses in energy efficiency and renewable energy design, construction, inspection, and maintenance.

Program Eligibility
All training and certification courses are offered at no cost to participants on a first-come, first-served basis, however, registrants that fit the following criteria will be given priority access to courses:

  • Tier 1: District residents District CBE or CBE-Eligible firms
  • Tier 2: District residents working outside of the District or non-residents working for District CBE or CBE-Eligible firms
  • Tier 3: Non-Residents & businesses in greater DMV metro area

Big Thank You to Target
Target Volunteers Paint Center

Last week, volunteers from Target painted the classrooms at Skyland, including painting our logo on the wall in the classroom. We have two classes starting this week, so it is great to have the classrooms looking good. They also gave us gift bags of beauty samples, so stop by the Center and pick one up.
