Migrant Education Program Holiday Family Night Spreads Cheer

From: Migrant Education News

Families from all six east county districts came together last Thursday night at Clear Creek Middle School to enjoy some holiday cheer with the Migrant Education Program. As in years past, the MEP hosted with the help of several Chipotle branches who donated burritos. Families appreciated the ability to shop through donations of clothing, gloves, scarves, hats and household items to fill their holiday and winter needs.

Phenomenal students attending the A & E School Program generously gave of their time and talent again this year and donated several bags of beautifully made hats and scarves that were a big hit among attendees young and old. The 37 families were also able to choose between SNOWCAP food boxes or bags of rice and beans. The Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) tabled with information on their program and services while they handed out goodies for all of the children present.
The MEP would like to extend our heart-felt thanks to the following people and programs: Clear Creek Middle School and staff, Pedro Gaitan-Farfan with the SUN program, Adrian Martinez and the other volunteers with AmeriCorp, Outdoor School, and Patty Coble and her students in the A & E School Program.
