Improved FAFSA Completion Rate at Target Schools

From Geoffrey Garner:

One of our program goals at Alternative Pathways TRiO was to improve the FAFSA completion rate at our target schools. To this end, during a celebration ceremony on Friday, May 19th, at Portland Community College, Lori Thompson received an award from the Office of Student Access and Completion for her dedication and hard work to improve the FAFSA completion rate at Alliance at Meek High School. With her are her partners in this endeavor, Jennifer Satalino, Director of The College Place ECMC, Oregon and Angel Gutierrez, Senior Coordinator at All Hands Raised. Congratulations to Lori on exceeding her goals with her students.

From Lori Thompson:

"I am just so glad Geoff scheduled a "staff meeting" after the lunch so I was actually there to accept the award on behalf of our team. Such a smart supervisor. Loved partnering with PCC/All Hands Raised at Meek.

"Best news about our current work: Meek is taking further steps to support its college going culture next year by adding a Senior class dedicated to transition work. WIN!!!"
