Migrant Education Program - Holiday Family Night

The Migrant Education Program (MEP) held its annual Holiday Family Night on December 7th at Clear Creek Middle School for all of the migrant families and students in Centennial, Corbett, David Douglas, Gresham-Barlow, Parkrose and Reynolds school districts. Despite the frigid weather and chance of snow, the MEP had its best turnout in several years with around 275 people in attendance.

As each family signed in, they were given a stocking full of holiday cheer as well as the opportunity to fill a box with warm winter clothing and food.  Families enjoyed a catered dinner while listening to holiday music and afterwards walked around a social services fair where they could speak with presenters from the Multnomah County Library, Head Start, NAYA Parents as Teachers, Legal Aid, Oregon  Law Center, WIC & Healthy Homes and Catholic Charities.

The Migrant Education Program would like to extend its sincere thanks again to all of those people who donated to the program and its families this season. Happy Holidays and Feliz Año Nuevo!
