On June 8th, 2017, a graduation ceremony was held for Hospital Program participants at Doernbecher.
From Anna:
"Every school age child hospitalized for pediatric blood disorders or cancer are invited to join us. These are students who have to spend significant time in the hospital so we know them well and vice versa.
"During graduation we try to spotlight the incredible achievements of our whole student body overall and recognize each individual student individually. Our intention is to not only recognize their accomplishments but also their commitment to learning under pretty difficult conditions.
"Graduation is our day to push something normal and celebratory into the day of students who would otherwise be missing their end of school year celebrations!"
Students, Hospital Program staff, and visitors made caps and wore gowns for the ceremony. Shown above: Vice Principal Sarah Davis, Principal Patrick McArthur, Director of Instructional Services Kathryn Skimas, and Superintendent Sam Breyer.
