Three Lakes High School Medical Terminology class offers dual high school / college credits

Three Lakes High School has a new dual credit class that allows students to earn college credits while they finish their high school requirements.
Eleven students are enrolled Medical Terminology and Body Systems I, taught by Three Lakes teacher Kim Snider.

The three-credit entry-level course is required for a variety of career-training programs in the healthcare field. It teaches proper use and spelling of medical terminology for body systems, patient care, and medical treatment and procedures. It includes instruction in proper use of surgical gloves, masks and gowns.

The culminating lab activity is dissection of an organ. This term, the students participated in the dissection of a kidney.
The class is offered in partnership with Linn Benton Community College through its College Now program.
