January 2019 Newsletter

We’re in full on planning mode these days at Crickhollow! The seed catalogues are out and we are plugging away at our marketing plan and updated website. (These are coming soon – not yet!)

We are filled with anticipation as we map out our garden plan, our seeding charts and order the seeds. I have ordered some new flowers from Hawthorn Seeds so look forward to new arrangements this year.

My goal for the vegetables is to grow each crop in a uniform way without weed, pest, or disease pressure. This is a tall order but it will make harvest time much more efficient allowing us to get more out to market.

If there are particular vegetables you would like us to grow for you,
please let us know!
In preparation for advertising for a new apprentice we have been reading through the biodynamic production standards  and apprenticeship checklists from the Biodynamic Association.

We follow as many of these guidelines as possible. This years apprenticeship will focus on the rhythmic nature of gardening biodynamically.
