Shine Bright New West
Everyone in New Westminster is encouraged to put up holiday lights and engage in a variety of activities to enjoy the winter holiday season. Check out the city-wide program here. We have a variety of events happening at the library too!
HOLIDAY HELLOS
Help make someone's Christmas brighter! We are inviting our young & young-at-heart patrons to create non-religious cards, letters & pictures to be delivered to members of the library’s Home Library Service & other isolated community members. Drop-in to the library to make one or make at home and drop it off.
FAMILY FUN WITH CODING ROBOTS
Enjoy some free family fun at the library this winter break! We’ll be learning coding skills to guide our Sphero and Code-a-pillar robots through a wintry maze. December 29, 2:00-3:00.

Whip up some festive treats at the library, then take them home to bake! December 22, 2:00-3:00.

IMMIGRATION PATHWAYS INFO SESSION
Hear the latest information about Canadian immigration options for work permit holders and international students. Hosted by S.U.C.C.E.S.S. BCSIS December 9, 2:00-4:00 (online).

ESL Conversation Circles continue on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings until December 10. Presented in partnership with the New Westminster Immigrant Services Society.

SFU WRITING CONSULTATIONS
Looking for feedback on your writing? How about a free one-on-one writing consultation with the SFU Writer's Studio? December's session is full already, so book your space for January 12, 5:00-8:00 (online).

WORK BC: EMPLOYMENT DROP-IN SERVICES
Drop-in to the 2nd floor Gallery Room at the Main Branch for resume help, interview strategies, cover letter assistance and more! December 21, 1-2:30.
STORYTIME AND BABYTIME
Regularly scheduled Storytime, Pyjama Storytime, and Babytime at the Main Branch and Queensborough (all details here) will continue through December 15. After that, we'll take a holiday break!
Holiday Viewing with Kanopy
Kanopy, our streaming digital video service, has a Home Viewing for the Holidays section. Check out videos of the Nutcracker, Babes in Toyland and other holiday specials, all for free with your library card.
If you don't do digital, we also have all of our holiday music, movies, TV shows, magazines and books out at the branches. Stop by and pick up some items to get you in the holiday mood!

Holidays and Service Notes

Both branches of the library will close early on Christmas Eve December 24, and be closed December 25, 26 & 27. We will also close early on December 31 and be closed January 1 & 2, 2023. All opening hours and updates are posted HERE.
