Colony Park Master Developer

Our project has moved onto the next phase and we hope you'll join us on Saturday, September 8 from 11:00am–1:00pm at the Turner-Roberts Recreation Center for a "Meet & Greet".

This public meeting is an opportunity for Colony Park residents and Austin community members to meet the recommended Colony Park Master Developer, Catellus Development Corporation.

The "Meet & Greet" will include a presentation and a moderated Q&A session to answer questions submitted by the community. The presentation will begin at 11:30am. Free food and refreshments will be provided. Spanish translation services will be available.

Back-to-School Bash

Central Health and partners are sponsoring a Back-to-School Bash to help students in Northeast Travis County prepare for a successful return to school.

Turner-Roberts Recreation Center

The event will include free backpacks, school supplies, food and refreshments, as well as, a resource fair that includes services available for students and families throughout the year.

Residents will also have a chance to tour the Northeast Health Resource Center and learn more about the services provided.

Northeast Health Resource Center

The Northeast Health Resource Center is OPEN

Students and families are invited to visit the Center, located at Volma Overton Elementary, Portable B

The Center offers:
  • Primary Care Services 
  • Health Screenings
  • WIC Services
  • Health Care Enrollment Assistance (Medical Access Program-MAP, Medicaid, CHIP, etc.)

The Northeast Health Resource Center is made possible through the collaboration of Central Health, Austin Public Health,Travis County Health & Human Services, CommUnity Care Health Centers, and Austin Independent School District. 

Art in Public Places

Tyson Davis, the local artist selected to design the artwork for the Colony Park District Park, will be at the Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, August 25.

Tyson will be available to gather community input on his new artwork. Please stop by his table and provide your feedback!

Travis County 

The Travis County Economic Development Strategy survey is now available in both English and Spanish on NextDoor and the county's social media sites (Facebook and Twitter).

Please be sure to sign-up for the mailing list to receive updates and information about future engagement opportunities. 

Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park 

The Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park Master Plan held its second public meeting on June 6, with over 70 attendees participating. 

Several different Framework Concepts for the Master Plan were presented during the meeting to gauge the community's preferences. In addition to the meeting, over 1,800 individuals participated in an online survey and offered further input.

Currently, the consultant team is working on the preliminary master plan design for the park. The Austin Parks and Recreation department anticipates the third public meeting will be held in late September or early October.
