We hope you are managing well as we eagerly await updates about how we proceed in a new COVID normal life.

There is lots going on here at Kirrip in the coming weeks. Women's group is relaunching into the virtual space and men's group has been successful in its couple of sessions so far. The annual general meeting (AGM) is coming up and we are asking for nominations for board members. Lastly, we have just advertised a new position - Local Aboriginal Justice Worker. Read about it all below!

Take care you mob,
The team at Kirrip
Kirrip Aboriginal Corporation will be hosting an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 21st November at 11:30am. An AGM is a meeting held once a year that all members of Kirrip Aboriginal Corporation are invited to attend.

The purpose of an AGM is to present to our members a report on the activities and finances for the previous year, to allow time for members to ask questions, and to elect members to the board. We urge any members who are interested in a board position to contact us for a nomination pack.
Local Aboriginal Justice Worker

The incumbent will work with justice agencies to support Aboriginal people throughout their engagement with the criminal justice system. They will work closely with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) and Justice stakeholders to build relationships with Aboriginal communities in the region.

Kirrip and Edmund Rice Services Mt. Atkinson have partnered to deliver a new cultural program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth living in the City of Melton and aged 12-17 years of age.
We will meet weekly to create new or build upon existing relationships, increase connection to culture, provide opportunities for leadership development and connect with local elders and Aboriginal professionals who will run cultural activities.

Following current COVID19 guidelines for gatherings, we will commence the program online and use Zoom for participants to get to know each other, have a yarn and play games until we can meet face-to-face in a safe COVID normal environment.

Contact us on 8088 0764 for more information or for an enrolment pack.
