The Lexington Refugee Assistance Programworks with refugees and asylum seekers to promote independence and belonging. Over the years we have helped pay for driver education, trade school, college, English language learning, gift cards for our students at the start of each school year and again during the holiday season and more. In the near future, we will be helping to support one or more Afghan families as well. Help us keep these traditions going!
100% of the profits will go to LexRAP to support our refugee families and individuals. In the tradition of Hand-in-Hand Cafe, refugee women will cook together, get paid and work side by side with community volunteers during this fundraiser.
Here’s what we will be cooking for you, just in time for holiday parties and get-togethers:
Appetizers: Hummus, Baba ganoush, tabouli and olive salad (sold by the half pint)
Desserts: Ma’amoul (date cookies), Stone Castles (jam filled cookie bars), Date balls, Kanafeh (a yummy cheesy dessert with shredded phyllo), rice pudding (made with rose water)
