STRATUS and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare were thrilled to kick off Healthcare Simulation Week 2018 with an exclusive tour of STRATUS via Facebook live.

"Operational Infrastructure" with Dr. Charles Pozner
STRATUS executive director, Dr. Charles Pozner, led a webinar via FB live offering his pearls of wisdom on the importance and value of "operational infrastructure" in a simulation center.

International Fellowship Webinar
Fellowship program director, Dr. Valerie Dobiesz, and current 1-year fellow, Dr. Wed Almutairi, hosted a live webinar answering questions about the various opportunities available at STRATUS for our international colleagues and friends.

For the second year in a row, STRATUS brought simulation to the Brigham and Women's Hospital mezzanine! Hundreds of passersby received hands-on introductions to simulation by:

- inserting IVs into task trainers
- practicing their psychomotor skills using an FLS station (fundamentals of laparoscopic skills)
- intubating a manikin
- performing an ultrasound-guided examination via virtual reality

- performing a virtual cardiac catheterization

Grand Re-Opening Ceremony
In light of Healthcare Simulation Week, STRATUS hosted an intimate ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate our recent expansion and renovation.

Special thanks to the Wallace family, Allen Kachalia, MD, JD (Chief Quality Officer), Madelyn Pearson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC (Chief Nursing Offer / SVP Patient Care Services), Timothy Erickson, MD (BWH Department of Emergency Medicine)

Say hello to Baraa!

In August 2018, STRATUS launched its first collaborative program with Brigham and Women's Hospital's Occupational Health Services. This multi-day program was designed to train hospital nurses how to administer a tuberculosis test. Til date, the center and BWH nursing staff have trained over 106 nurses and counting.
