Filmar en América Latina (Geneva) has now established itself as the Swiss rendezvous with high quality film productions from Latin America and also the opportunity to have a panoramic vision of its contemporary filmmaking.
It is difficult to track something like a trend, but we can say that affirmative filmic statements, often loaded with straightforward political claims, are certainly well balanced with more personal, even intimist portraits, which reveal the strong thread of a humanist tradition.
In our meticulous selection – 10 reviews of which 5 on new discoveries at the festival – we want to highlight the works by Argentinian
Agustina Comedi and Bolivian
Diego Mondaca, respectively:
El silencio es un cuerpo que cae - review by Jodie McNeilly-Renaudie
Chaco - review by Jean Perret
Beside
