Great Plains Air Zone (GPAZ)

Expansion of continuous air monitoring

In May 2016 the board of GPAZ accepted a proposal from the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) to provide continuous air monitoring services in two locations. The Board and Science Committee decided to place one unit in Yorkton, SK and one in Belle Plaine, SK. The trailers are built and are in the process of being deployed. Once operational, the data will be reported in real-time on the GPAZ.org webpage, just as the data from the Regina site is currently displayed. In addition, summary reports will be posted for each month and compiled each year in the GPAZ annual report. The data collected in these sites will add to our understanding of the current air quality in the Air Zone.

2015 GPAZ Annual Report

The Great Plains Air Zone annual report is now available for download on the resources page of our website. The report contains a summary of the activities of the Air Zone, including financial statements and air monitoring results. It covers the time period from April 2015 to March 2016.
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment provided short term monitoring to GPAZ in Davidson, Saskatchewan during the summer of 2016 using their Saskatchewan Air Monitoring Lab (SAML). The results of this monitoring were reported at the October 2016 GPAZ science committee meeting and will be included in the 2016 annual report.
