Have You Forgotten?

"One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.
They tell of the power of your awesome works—
and I will proclaim your great deeds." Psalm 145:4-6

Note from Thibault Ketterer, Dean of Students

Have you forgotten?

A few days ago I found myself reading Psalm 145. It reminded me of something very important: remembering. Psalm 145:4-6 speaks of how people would tell of God’s mighty acts, great deeds,  wonderful and awesome works. Psalm 145:4 tells us that one generation says it to another. His works, what He’s done, is made to be shared which ultimately results in worship to God (Psalm 145:5-7).

Those few verses really challenged me as I’m someone who tends to forget things very easily. Because of that I have a to do list app on my phone, a calendar, sticky notes all over my desk that help me to remember. But as I was reading and meditating on that psalm, I realized I very rarely use those tools to remind myself of what God has done. The following days after reading that psalm I started to make the choice to remember what God had done in my life the past few months. How encouraging that was to remember his faithfulness. In our lives it can be easy to have so many things that keep us busy or that keep us from remembering. Whether it’s our busy schedule, struggles that keep our attention, fatigue, sicknesses, etc., those things can make us forget and can easily become our main focus of attention. Reading Psalm 145 helped me remember all that God has done in the past few months but more importantly who He has shown Himself to be through all those.

Have you forgotten?

As I read over that psalm once again I see how God’s work in David’s life encouraged him to write those verses of praise to God and as I’m reading it I’m once again reminded that God is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love (v8), that He is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does (v13). And so much more! What an amazing God we have!

What would your psalm of praise be? What is one of God’s characteristics that you need to be reminded of today?

Today I want to challenge you to remember. Take some time to ponder on what God has done in your life and be encouraged to see His wonderful work in your life and everything that He is for you! Be encouraged!

   Praise!

One of our staff houses has roof damage that insurance has approved being replaced! Such a gift to us financially. Please pray that our Student Center roof will be covered as well. We are just waiting on the inspection by the adjuster.

Summer Camps

Our youth weeks were so wonderful this summer. We had a total of 670 campers (plus their leaders) - our biggest summer yet!

Frank and Krista

Frank is beginning a new season of ministry acting as an International Field Representative for Ravencrest as well as continuing to be a regular lecturer. The Cirones recently moved down to Loveland, Colorado to be closer their kids and the airport for all of Frank's travels!

New Kitchen Assistant

Hampton was a student here 17-18 and stayed on as a kitchen intern this past year. She has done an amazing job and has been such an excellent addition to the kitchen team that we've asked her to stay on as Kitchen Assistant. We are so excited that she agreed!

Short-term Volunteer

Jonathan was here serving on our maintenance for three weeks from France. An electrical engineer by trade, he was able to help us with so many projects around campus while he practiced his English for a big exam - which he passed! One of his many accomplishments while here was repairing our snow blower which had been broken for ten years! Thank you, Jonathan!

God's Provision

We are confident that the Lord is fully aware of all of our needs as an organization. The Lord has proven Himself faithful in His provision, and we trust He will continue to do so. We simply want to make you aware of some of the needs we are trusting Him for:
  • The purchase of a 15 passenger van and a work truck
  • Students for Bible School
  • Repair of two water tanks for campus buildings
    • We are pursuing a state grant that would provide enough funds to do a full upgrade to our water system
  • Roof of our Student Center – praying it too will be covered by our insurance
  • Scholarship funds – we currently have a few people interested in attending our 19/20 bible school program but are in need of funds
