Summer Newsletter 2019

Summer's warm breath is upon us, a time to slow down a bit, enjoy outdoor activities, barbecues, along with some well earned rest and relaxation!  It's a great opportunity to pack up for the pool or beach and grab a good read - like "An Invisible Thread" by Laura Schroff and Alex Tresniowski, this year's choice for our One Book One Town initiative.

Things are heating up this summer at the Pompton Lakes Library!

Cecil B. DeMille Film Festival
The Greatest Show on Earth
Tuesday, July 16th, 6p at Christ Church $5/Ticket

We're nearing the end of our Cecil B. DeMille Film Festival!  It's been a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Hollywood's most successful film maker and his connection to our home town here in Pompton Lakes, NJ.

Our final film runs this Tuesday, 7/16/19, 6pm at Christ Church in Pompton Lakes.  Join us to watch the circus spectacular, "The Greatest Show on Earth", starring Charlton Heston, Betty Hutton & James Stewart!  Filled with action, excitement, thrills and spills as only the master of spectacles, Cecil B. DeMille could bring to the screen!  Tickets are on sale for $5 at the Pompton Lakes Library, but are going fast.

Hopefully you had a chance to enjoy one of the four films we've featured during the festival, which included:

Union Pacific - A Railroad Western featuring Barbara Stanwyck and Joel McCrea
Unconquered - A Historical Drama set in Pre-Revolutionary War America, with Gary Cooper & Paulette Goddard
Samson & Delilah - A Biblical Epic, starring Victor Mature and
Hedy Lamarr

We'd like to thank all our sponsors and partners, including the PCCHC, Christ Church of Pompton Lakes, NJ Smart Homes and Theater, the Pompton Lakes BID, The TV Land Cafe, Image Pro, Thatcher McGee's, Mail Boxes and More, and Cardinal Frame and Fine Art for all their support!
