One day, two approaches 

Every year, on the 21st of September, people around the world celebrate Peace Day. This year UN decided to promote peace and hope around the planet by streaming the best of humanity 24/7 on the Peace channel: A diverse content presented in short video format. A somehow different approach comes from PeaceOneDay, a global coalition with the objective of institutionalising Peace Day and making it self-sustaining. They opt for a microsite that also includes a production company for videos and a big agency packaging the campaign to reach more people, having a bigger impact.

Can graphic design save your life?

That’s the question at the heart of a powerful new exhibition, carrying the same name, at the Wellcome Collection museum in London, running from September 7 to January 14. It explores graphic design’s complex relationship with health, medicine, and the world of big pharma. We strongly encourage you to visit, and if not possible, spend some time on its website where very interesting blogs are hosted dealing with various subjects related to the theme. And by the way, we think the answer is YES :)

Superpowers to protect the planet

As global efforts to address climate change are increasing, a communication campaign to celebrate the major accomplishments of the Montreal Protocol in protecting the ozone layer and the climate has been launched. The #OzoneHeroes campaign aims to increase public recognition by using not only data visualization but even a comicbook and an interactive game (in which you can become #OzoneHeroe too!). Just in time to celebrate World Ozone Day on 16 September 2017.

A workshop
OCHA will have another infographic training from 17 to 20 October, but we are feeling lucky as this time is opened to designers from other organizations. Apply here before 18 September.
A logo
September 27 will be World Tourism day. For that purpose, UNWTO has unvelied a campaign, together with a logo with a refershing look, carrying a handscript typeface in all 6 languages.
A photobook
Glad to see how IOM is betting on strong visual communications: This photobook shot in Central African Republic and the upcoming Migrant Film Festival. Submit your entries by September 17.
A talk
UX Designers meetup comes back to Geneva this Friday 15 September. Highlight will be Stephane Cruchon, the brain behind Design Sprint. Sign up here for this interesting UX talk.
An infographic
It's said that nowadays we can visualize data about almost everyhing. And sometimes that could be for a very good cause: like in this case, unveiling how gender-bias comics books can be.
A magazine (fest)
Also in September 15 starts MagFest kicks off in Edinburgh. One of the guests is Marbles, a new magazine that follows the trend of Anxy, also dealing with mental health issues.
