Interactive Things, live!

We are really pleased to announce that a new UN Designers lunch is coming! Benjamin Wiederkehr from Interactive Things, on designing and developing interactive data visualizations. Interactive Things has helped organizations like UNESCO or the City of Geneva to visualize complex data, always putting the human at the center of our process. They have also created very compelling online narratives about the Syrian conflict and gender issues.
Meeting will take place on Wednesday May 10th at 10:30am in Room IV (aka 'Romanian Room') at the Palais des Nations. The room is located on the 3rd floor of Building C. It is right across from the smaller entrance of the Bar des Délégués (also on the 3rd floor)
Please fill your name and organization (or if you are a freelancer) into this Doodle list BEFORE May 9th as we will have to send the list to UN security by that day to avoid problems at the gate. We will sending you another reminder nearer the date... and remember, attendance is FREE!

Hard case for road safety

When it comes to awarding creativity, there are plenty of well established awards such as RedDot or 4A's, but the D&AD awards are still on a league of their own. Also, they do take into account pro-bono work and reward creativity employ on good causes like disability or Amnesty's The Refugee Nation, and surprised by the ending of Evan's video, but the definitely big winner of this edition (10 awards) has been this campaign for raising awareness about the importance of wearing seat belts. We liked the amount of love put into developing the project, and its attention to detail. Please spend some time in meeting Graham, the only person designed to survive our roads.

No fake news

3rd May was World Press Freedom Day. If you could not celebrate it then, from 11th May you'll be able to enjoy the exhibition of World Press Photo winners in Zurich. we take this story about Duterte's 'war on drugs' in Philippines, winner of first prize in the General News section, as a great exponent on how long form journalism and visual communications can raise awareness on human rights issues.
