2nd TAFISA Europe Conference Gathers 100 Participants
On August 7th about 100 participants from all over Europe joined the 2nd TAFISA Europe Conference organised by the Knowledge Centre for Sport Netherlands. TAFISA's Mission 2030 Receives International Support
TAFISA's Mission 2030 is receiving international support as now organisations from 80 countries have officially voiced their support, with the latest signatories including the National Sports Council of Zambia, the Japanese Olympic Committee, the Myanmar Olympic Committee and the Saudi Federation of Mass Participation, among others.

Join in the 1st Global Active City Summit!
TAFISA and Evaleo, the founders of the Active Well-being Initiative, invite you on October 9th, 2018 to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the 1st Global Active City Summit is to be organised. This one-day event will bring together stakeholders and municipalities from Latin America and all over the world, sharing experiences around the theme “Active Cities”. TAFISA Invited to Forum "Russia - Country of Sports"
TAFISA President Prof. Dr. Ju-Ho Chang has been invited to give an address during the plenary session of the International Sports Forum "Russia - Country of Sports" in Ulyanovsk, Russia, October 10-12.  The Forum is the leading business event in the sports sector in Russia and the main communications platform promoting the buildup of the modern sports industry.  It is devoted to the popularization and promotion of physical training and Sport for All, the development of equipment and material resources, the investment policy, and international cooperation in sports. The largest international forum brings together over 3,000 people from different regions of Russia and foreign countries every two years. Members of the Russian Government and the State Duma, heads of national and international sports federations, ministries and departments, international sports stars and representatives of various business organizations are also participating in the event. Read More...
Erasmus+ Projects Well on their Way
The various Erasmus+ projects co-funded by the European Commission where TAFISA is involved are progressing towards their objectives. Project partners regularly meet to ensure the success of the project: 
  • As part of the FAIR project (Forum for Antidoping In Recreational sport), the second FAIR annual forum will take place in Brussels, Belgium on November 22, 2018, bringing key European stakeholders around the table to discuss the issue of doping and food supplements usage at the grassroots level.
  • Following a Europe-wide survey on existing good practices and initiatives towards inclusion at national and European levels, partners of the InSport project (Sport Inclusion: Full Paricipation in Sport by Persons with Disabilities) will meet on December 6-7 in Lisbon, Portugal.
  • The PRIME project (Participation, Recreation and Inclusion through Martial Arts Education) is reaching its conclusion and will present the coaching framework in Martial Arts for persons with disabilities in Tralee, Ireland on December 3-4. 
  • The next partners meeting for the Keep Youngsters Involved project will take place in Lisbon, Portugal on September 17-18.  The project successfully identified 14 main factors for youth drop-out in sport and the project partners have been collecting effective and practice based working elements.
  • The first phase of PACTE (Promoting Active Cities Throughout Europe) is coming to an end as more than 700 municipalities Europe-wide have answered a survey on the integration of physical activity within municipalities' policies.  TAFISA in partnership with the Liverpool City Council and the Sport and Citizenship Think Tank will organise a PACTE Workshop on November 16-17 in Liverpool, UK.

Sport for All and the Environment Project Publishes Guidelines for Event Organisers
The "Ecological Recommendations - How to organize a sports event in accordance with the principles of sustainable development" were just published as a part of the international Project "Sport for All and the Environment" (SforAE). The guidelines were created in cooperation with project partners from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. Their aim is to encourage sport event organizers to pay attention to and reduce the environmental impact of their events. Read More...
WHO Study Shows Over 1.4 Billion Adults at Risk of Disease due to Physical Inactivity
In a study published in the Lancet Global Health, researchers from the World Health Organization (WHO) highlight the global physical inactivity epidemic. This study was conducted as the WHO is working with partners and stakeholders such as TAFISA to implement the WHO Global Action Plan of Physical Activity (2018-2030). Read More...
Great Success of the 1st TAFISA Sport for All Games! 
On August 3-7, 2018, Friesland hosted the 1st TAFISA European Sport for All Games.  The event was a great success as more than 20 international delegations representing over 50 Traditional Sports and Games, thousands of participants and tens of thousands of visitors joined during the 5 days. Read More...

TAFISA Board of Directors Meeting Will be Held in Suzhou, China
On the occasion of the Active Cities Summit organised by TAFISA and China's General Sport Administration, the TAFISA Board of Directors will meet in Suzhou, China, on November 22-25.
TAFISA Sport for All Workshop at Cubamotricidad 2018
TAFISA invites all interested organizations to join the TAFISA Sport for All Workshop that will take place during the International Conference Cubamotricidad 2018 on October 24th at the Convention Palace of Havana City.  Organisations from the Americas will discuss in an open debate about their needs and expectations to increase the impact of Sport for All initiatives on the continent.  Following the encouragement of the Americas Alliance for Sport for All, TAFISA representatives will facilitate this workshop which will be attended by sport organizations and TAFISA members from Bolivia, Chile, Mexico, and several Caribbean islands among others.

2018 is a record-breaking year as Israel, Iran and South Africa will follow, bringing the total to 7 TAFISA CLCs!
