Headteacher’s message:

Assalaamu alaykum Students, Parents, Carers and Staff
We have had a very busy and productive half term and I would like to commend all students and staff for their hard work and efforts. We wish you an enjoyable break and hope you return to school in the new year refreshed and rejuvenated for the spring term.

Please note the last day of term will be Friday 20th December (12.00pm finish) and we will return as normal on Tuesday 7th January. I hope you all have an enjoyable break and that Allah (swt) encompasses us all in His mercy.
Ameen

End-of-term Assembly

We held our end-of-term assembly on Friday 20th December where students received prizes and awards for merits, effort, attendance and achievement. The students performed Qur'an recitations, a performance on backbiting & bullying by Year 7 pupils and a riddle quiz about teachers!

The Adab & Akhlaq prize recognises good conduct and manners and this term the student awarded best akhlaq is Aniqa Rahim in Year 11.

We would like to congratulate parents and students for the efforts and achievement of all pupils this term. We appreciate all your hard work and we believe it is reflected in the positive feedback from teachers, the number of merits achieved (several students attained over 100 merits!) as well as the progress everyone has made this term. We pray for further success for you all in the coming term Insha'Allah.

Scholastic Book Fair

We held our first Scholastic Book Fair of the year at Lady Aisha Academy from 28 November to 4 December, with mobile bookcases and many books at half the retail price! The fair sold over £500 in books and also results in free books for the school.

Notice regarding adverse weather conditions

In case of really bad weather such as heavy snow, please check the school website in the morning for any notices of closure. The relevant information will be found in two places: the moving notice on the home page, or the first post under the tab News and Announcements (in the Parents section). Our most likely course of action will be that the school will remain open and running, and students should come in when they can, as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Careers Session with London Borough of Barking & Dagenham

On Thursday 17th October, members of the local council came to visit the school to run a careers session for years 10 & 11. They spoke about the different academic options which faced them and offered information on choosing A-levels, BTECs and apprenticeships as well as future career paths. The students found the session very helpful and informative.
