Assalaamu alaykum,

The days of Ramadan are slipping away. I pray that we are blessed with the ability to make use of the last remaining days, and wish you all a wonderful Eid.

On Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th June 2018, Year 10 students will take their GCSE Arabic exams. On these days, Year 10s do not need to come in at 8:30am, but should be in school for 12:30pm - half an hour before the start of their examination.

Eid Party

Year 11 leavers assembly
Year 11 leavers assembly will take place on Thursday 21st June 2018, after which they will be carrying out their work experience. We bid them a fond farewell and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
Reminder regarding uniform policy

As you may be aware, we are now strictly enforcing our school uniform policy. The school uniform entails a burgundy jilbaab, the school blazer, a black hijaab, black school trousers and black school shoes. Please note that even on the days that your daughter has PE, she will need to come in to school in black shoes, and carry her trainers with her PE kit, to change into for PE.
If a pupil comes to school in incorrect uniform, she will not be admitted inside and will have to go home, change and then come back. In the event that this is not possible, she will be given an hour's detention after school.
Adventure Island - Southend-On-Sea
This year, the end-of-year whole school trip is to Southend-On-Sea on Monday 16th June 2018, to the seaside and to the adventure park. Departure from school will be at 8am, so please wnsure your daughter arrives by 7:45am. Departure will be at 4pm from Southend and insha'allah arrival at school will be at 5:30pm.
House trip to Flip Out Trampoline Park - East Ham
We have arranged a trip to take place on Wednesday 18th July 2018 to Flip Out on Barking Road (E6 1LB)  as a reward for the winning school house. The winning house will be determined after Sports day, which will take place on Tuesday 10th July 2018. You will be informed of further details closer to the date insha'allah.
Ramadan Circles

During this blessed month, we have held two Ramadan circles so far and will be holding two more. At the end of a school day, once a week, last lesson is cancelled and our pupils go up to the assembly hall. Two pupil assemblies are delivered on various topics, Mr Aslam speaks to the students and relates stories from the life of the Prophet (saw) and his companions, collective Quran recitation takes place and then students read through a dhikr booklet.
Hadith of the Month

'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, "No one will enter Paradise who has an atom's weight of pride in his heart." A man said, "What if a man likes his clothes to look good and his shoes to look good?" He said, "Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means denying the truth and looking down on people."

[Sahih Muslim]
Joke of the Month
A man takes his well-fed and well-loved cat to the vet.
“My cat is sneezing too much, is there anything you can do for him?” the man asks.
“Well I’m not sure,” said the vet, “let’s have a look at him.”
So the vet picks the cat up and examines his eyes, then he checks his teeth and ears. Finally, he says, “I’m going to have to put him down.”
“What? Because he sneezes a lot?”
 “No, because he’s really heavy.”
