Update On the 2019-nCoV Virus 

On January 7, Chinese authorities confirmed that they had identified a new virus. The new virus is a coronavirus, which is a family of viruses that include the common cold, and viruses such as SARS and MERS. This new virus was temporarily named “2019-nCoV”.

The coronavirus outbreak started in central China – the outbreak was first emerged in Wuhan, and the city has been locked down for days, public transportation has been closed down and flights and trains out of the city are suspended. Several cities across China have been locked down, affecting more than 50 million people. It has been confirmed that at least 80 people have died from the virus.

Latest News Dated January 27, 2020

As per official notice from the Shanghai government, all companies in Shanghai will be closed till 9th of February. Until further notice, Martin Bencher’s Shanghai office will resume work on 10th of February.
As per official notice from the government in Beijing, all other companies in China have extended Chinese New Year holidays until 2nd of February. Until further notice, Martin Bencher’s offices in Qingdao and Guangzhou, will resume work on February 3rd.

We have taken all necessary precautions to avoid and limit delays or extra costs on ongoing shipments. As safety is always of first priority in Martin Bencher we take all precautions towards our employees and customers.
