Brush & Branch Chipping

  • Thursday, December 5
  • Friday, December 6
Due to the recent high winds, the Public Works Department will be coming through neighborhoods with their wood chipper to chop up fallen branches and limbs. Please pull the branches into the residential parkways near the curb. Thank you.

Support Your Community –
Shop, Eat, Enjoy!

Shopping, dining and playing here in Vernon Hills helps keep our businesses and our whole community strong. Our business community needs our support to stay vibrant. Not only that, a portion of sales tax collected here comes back to us. The bulk of Village-provided services (such as snow plowing and police protection) are funded by sales tax, as the Village collects no property tax. Thank you for supporting all of our local businesses.

Vacation House Watch

Heading out of town? Consider signing up for a Vacation House Watch. The service is free from the Vernon Hills Police Department. Make your request through the VHPD Online Vacation House Watch webpage. While you are at it, check out the VHPD's list of Vacation Security Tips.

Parking Rules

On Street Parking Permits

Keep in mind that no overnight parking is allowed on Village streets. If you need to keep a car on the street overnight (perhaps for a guest), you can note that request through the VHPD Over Night Parking webpage. The online form requires license plate number, make, model, address, contact info and dates.

If you need a longer parking solution, check the Extended Overnight Parking Permits webpage for guidelines and an application.

Finally, note that there is no parking on Village streets after a snowfall of 2 inches or more – day or night. This helps Public Works keep our streets clean. Thank you.
