Known By Heart Poetry–February News

A big-hearted Happy Valentine’s to you from Known By Heart

This image is from a card-making workshop I visited recently with my site partner Saint Anthony Park Area Seniors, where Known by Heart will be offering four writing sessions in April and May (see below for more details).

This was a great way to get to know folks, and let them decide if coming to a writing workshop might be for them. Plus, it was a fun way to spend a snowy day. Thanks to Saint Anthony Park Seniors for the community and the fun!

What We’re Learning

An Ebenezer poet taking inspiration from winter

Right now, Known By Heart is in the thick of several classes: from Winter Words at Ebenezer in Minneapolis, to a class about the body at Keystone Community Services in Saint Paul.

My students teach me something new at every session: from how to polish shoes, to reframing a slushy winter day as “early spring.”
