Learning Venue Change Request
As you may have heard from our district, families can request a transition between in-person and remote learning at various intervals during the school year. At the elementary level, the next opportunity for consideration for transition is at trimester (early November). As you might expect, making student transitions that far into the school year can be challenging, especially as it requires not only a change in instructional delivery, but also a change of classroom teacher. Further, due to the staffing logistics within our schools supporting both in-person and remote, we are incredibly limited in our ability to readily move students between venues. If you decide by trimester that your student would benefit from a change (to in person or to remote), the Pomona Area Principals will review each request collaboratively and make a case-by-case decision by November 3rd. Again, due to our limits in terms of staffing and ensuring that we maintain safe and manageable class sizes, we will prioritize students with health concerns when making these transition decisions.
