Little Community,
Happy New Year!!! We are looking forward to all that 2022 will bring, but also want to celebrate all that 2021 had to offer.
In 2021, our world was in the middle of a pandemic that forced so many into isolation and led to a need for technological and medical advancements.  They say that necessity breeds invention and that certainly was the case for this year.
  • Technology opened new doors as we learned new ways to connect with those around us
  • Education shifted as we found new ways to engage students through virtual learning tools
  • Partnerships around the world came to be as we have tapped into the technological tools that became necessity and opened classrooms to teachers and learning partners around the world
  • As we have been forced to learn new digital tools, our children have become experts at accessing information and navigating resources that provide endless possibilities
  • We have all learned the importance of connecting with those who are important to us and the power of telling someone how much they matter
In 2022, we look forward to all the great things that will come to our Little community.  We look forward to an upcoming RISE night during the first week in February where we can connect together and see how much our students have grown. We look forward to being able to come together for community events in the Spring, and to celebrating a year together (in person!) for the first time in years.
I hope that 2022 brings you all new beginnings, great surprises, tons of joy, and lots of love.  May we be able to celebrate a year of unity, caring, and growth.  This new year, encourage your child to set goals for what they would like to accomplish this year and be sure to check in on these goals often!  After all that we have been through together, we gratefully remember that the best is yet to come.

In partnership,
Julie Waage

We have been busy recording ourselves in class and are finally ready to share our winter concert with you!! We worked really hard over the course of a couple days. Thanks for being patient for the delay and change of format due to my illness a couple weeks ago.
Enjoy your winter break and I'll be excited to get back into learning new music in January when we return! Make sure instruments go home before break and try to play a few times at home between now and next time I see you. Feel free to reach out if you need anything.

Library & Technology
Reminder: Every week students come to the library for book checkout. If students are not returning their books each week they are not able to check out new ones. This is hard on students as they watch their classmates get new books. Please refer to the library website for the day your student's class goes to the library. Teach students to keep their books in their backpacks so they come to school every day especially if they are traveling between homes.

This month’s digital citizenship topic is Media Balance & Well-Being.

Students go beyond screen time to explore the impact their digital lives
can have on
their well-being and relationships while learning to balance media
in their everyday lives.

Motto:  We find balance in our digital lives.

Guiding question: How can we help students use media in healthy ways?

How to help Little Elementary receive donations
when you shop at King Soopers
The Kroger Family of Companies is committed to community engagement, positive social impact and charitable giving at the national and local levels. Every community is unique, but our common goal is to partner with the neighborhoods we serve and help the people there live healthier lives.

One of the ways in which we do this is through our King Soopers Community Rewards program. This program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Card to an organization, all you have to do is shop at King Soopers and swipe your Shopper’s Card. Here’s how it works:

1. Create a digital account.

A digital account is needed to participate in King Soopers Community Rewards. If you already have a digital account, simply link your Shopper’s Card to your account so that all transactions apply toward the organization you choose.

2. Link your Card to an organization.

Selecting the organization that you wish to support is as simple as updating the King Soopers Community Rewards selection on your digital account.

1. Sign in to your digital account.
2. Search for your organization here.
3. Enter the name or NPO number of the organization you wish to support.
Organization Name: Little Elementary PTSA
 NPO#: EY318
4. Select the appropriate organization from the list and click “Save”.
Your selected organization will also display in the King Soopers Community Rewards section of your account. If you need to review or revisit your organization, you can always do so under your Account details.

3. Your organization earns.

Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you. King Soopers donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating King Soopers Community Rewards organizations.

If you have any questions, please contact our Customer Service Center.

Whether you’re a customer or an organization, get started today!

Note: If you are a customer, make sure you have a preferred store selected to view participating organizations. If you are applying on behalf of an organization, please select a store in the same area as your organization.
