From our Head, Mark Ronan
Dear Parents and Guardians
Fiona and I are privileged to join The King’s Hospital School not only during this momentous 350th anniversary year but at a time where our school is well positioned to reflect where Ireland is as an outward looking and inclusive society. We have been warmly welcomed by the extended KH family and appreciate the opportunity to immerse ourselves into the community. As Headmaster, I will consider our School’s success by the ability to educate, young men and women who make a positive difference to the lives of others; and are known for their compassion, honesty, and respect for diversity in all its forms
Reading through this newsletter provides a great opportunity to reflect on the half term and appreciate the achievements, hard work and passion of our students and staff. No new Head could ask for a better introduction to a school community than our extraordinary 350th Service of Celebration in St Patrick’s Cathedral. The students impressed me not only by their engagement but also their respect for the occasion. I was immensely proud to be a part of this congregation and Service.
I would like to thank our students and staff for their support and patience during Nationwide’s recent research and filming project. It was an enjoyable and exciting experience; and I really appreciated their efforts. The feedback from the RTE team was hugely positive and complimentary of all.
I would particularly like to thank Mr Ua Bruadair and Ms Daly for ensuring the filming captured all aspects of life at our school.
Please do not be disappointed if some of the items filmed are trimmed or edited out, as is often the case during the production stage of a programme. What will be featured speaks for us all.
I have been advised that the Nationwide feature will air on RTÉ 1 on Wednesday, February 27th at 7pm. I would be grateful if you could spread the word amongst family and friends.
I look forward to meeting many of you over the coming months at the Gala Concert and Blue Coat Day.
