<<First Name>>--

Can you help us spread the word? There are 6 days to go until the Ontario election on June 7, and we want to make sure that the social determinants of health are part of the conversation.

Below, you'll see several different ways to speak up for decent work and #15andFairness. Many of them take just a minute or two. (Such as sharing one of our pre-crafted tweets and our brand new video!)

No matter who wins the election, we'll keep advocating for policies that promote health in Ontario. Let's make our intentions clear today.

Thank you for being a part of the movement for decent work in Ontario.

-- Kate Atkinson for the Decent Work and Health Network

10 ways to call for decent work and health in the #ONelxn

(1)    (NEW!) Share our brand new video on the importance of asking our candidates about their position on decent work for the health of all Ontarians -- Share on Facebook | Share on Twitter | YouTube link

(3)    Speak to your local candidate when they come knocking on your door -- see a list of questions from $15 and Fairness and use our Messaging Resources

in Toronto -- Facebook event | RSVP here

(6)    Encourage your local candidates to sign the pledge to support a $15 minimum wage and decent work for all (and then sign the pledge yourself)(6)    Write a letter to the editor to add the social determinants of health perspective to the election conversation -- keep it brief, and make it personal -- you can find contact information for papers with a large circulation in our Messaging Resources

Tweet 2: Good employment policy is good health policy. Higher standards save lives. Will you commit to protect the health of Ontarians, @fordnation @Kathleen_Wynne @AndreaHorwath @MikeSchreiner? #SDOH #15andFairness #ONelxn @DecentWorkHlth

Tweet 3: People earning low wages & with precarious work are at higher risk of illness, from mental illness to diabetes. Will you improve working standards to promote health, @fordnation @Kathleen_Wynne @AndreaHorwath @MikeSchreiner? #SDOH #15andFairness #ONelxn @DecentWorkHlth

Tweet 4: As a [healthcare provider, e.g.], I see the impacts of precarious work on my [patients/clients] every day. A healthier Ontario is one where #decentwork and #fairwages are a priority. I'm voting for a candidate who supports this agenda. #SDOH #15andFairness #ONelxn @DecentWorkHlth
