Thank you for calling! Let's keep the momentum
Yesterday, we asked you to phone your MPP and Cabinet Ministers and ask them to support our decent work and health demands as they make their decisions this week on legislation.
We have heard back from dozens of network members letting us know that they called and our pressure is having an impact. Thank you!
Now, we need to keep the momentum. Yesterday, a representative from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce stated on CBC Radio that they "don't think there needs to be change for change's sake." But we know that the demands we are making are urgent and are important to the many low-paid workers struggling with precarious work. We know that if workers got access to paid sick days, this would be vital to improving health and reducing the spread of disease.
Can you help us keep sharing the message? Take 15 minutes to share with a Cabinet Minister why paid sick days matter to you.
Hon Jeff Leal, Minister Responsible for Small Business; Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs
Hon Brad Duguid, Minister of Economic Development and Growth
Hon Michael Chan, Minister of International Trade
Hon Charles Sousa, Minister of Finance
Hon Kathleen Wynne, Premier; Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs
We would love to see you at our next steering committee meeting. Here are the details:
Tuesday, May 23, 5-6 p.m.
Workers' Action Centre, 720 Spadina Ave
Following the meeting, we will join the Fight for $15 and Fairness Toronto-Wide Organizing Meeting, 6-8 p.m. at the Workers' Action Centre.
Thank you for making your voice heard for decent work and health!
