International Women's Day

Decent Work and Health Network member Mei Wen, a third-year medical student at University of Toronto, presented on a panel organized by students at Dalla Lana School of Public Health on March 8 (photo, right). Her talk focused on the links between health and precarious work, and how health providers have been organized within the Fight for $15 and Fairness to push for better working conditions to promote health in Ontario.

Social Media Day of Action

We continue to support Tim Hortons workers as many of them face cuts to benefits and allowances and the general erosion of their working conditions. On March 15 (tomorrow!), $15 and Fairness is organizing a social media day of action. Click here to participate -- it takes a minute to sign up, and you'll help to make the message loud and clear!

Sandani Hapuhennedige and Afnan Naeem published an op-ed in The Varsity for International Women's Day on the importance of improving health conditions for women. Click the image to read their piece.
