Welcome to new members who attended the McMaster Health Advocacy Symposium on September 23, 2017.
I wanted to say a quick hello to welcome you to the DWHN and to let you know about some next steps.
At this critical time, you can contribute your voice to ensure that workers in Ontario have stronger workplace protections and higher wages. Advocacy looks like having conversations with your peers and colleagues, writing a letter to the editor, and coming out to support events and get involved. See last month's newsletter for links to send your letter to a local publication, and check out the $15 and Fairness Facebook page for events happening near you.
Please join the DWHN Hamilton Chapter in tabling and leafleting about Bill 148 at the Hamilton Public Library, 55 York Blvd, this Saturday, September 30 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Email Giuliana for more information, to RSVP, and to be added to the Hamilton DWHN Chapter Facebook group. And save the date: there will be a meeting and letter-writing party on Thursday, October 12 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., location TBD. Stay tuned!
Join us at the upcoming DWHN Steering Committee meeting/$15 and Fairness city-wide meeting to find out more about current activities. It's on Tuesday, October 3, 5:30-7:00 p.m., at Workers' Action Centre, 720 Spadina Ave., Suite 223. RSVP.
Thanks for your interest in the Decent Work and Health Network. Email me if you have any questions or want more information.
