Continuing Education

Firefighters aren’t the only emergency service professionals that seek out training and continuing education classes. Our Board of Fire Commissioners also look for opportunities to improve their public service skills and better serve the community. Commissioner Jan Treml attended a workshop in February on bidding procedures for public agencies. Commissioner Paul Williams, who also chairs the Board of Fire Commissioners, participated in a class on open public meetings and increasing transparency of local government in the community.

Thank you, CIF&R!

“Thank you all for your service to our community and especially our family.  Last year, our grandkids were seriously injured in a car accident on the west side of the island. One had to be cut from the wreckage, spent two weeks at Harborview, then three months in a wheelchair before the injuries healed enough. The other suffered a concussion, broken leg, bruises and bumps. Your rescue and medical care greatly helped save their lives. We’re so happy to report that both kids are doing great! XXX is a happy 4th grader, running and playing. XXX is doing well in 2nd grade and excels in math and many sports. Thank you for being there and the care you provide.”
