Welcome to Issue 7 of DH News: The Dark Hotel!
Remember back in March when we shut down and hoped we'd be back to "normal" by May, or perhaps June at the latest? So much for that. Here in the US, the time bought by staying home for three months to make a plan for widespread testing and contact tracing has instead resulted in merely hoping for the best. Hope it's going better where you are.
Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter, and I'm encouraged to see the protests leading to some positive changes.
This month, a highlight was my rendezvous with fireflies in the Berkshires, which was a bit like seeing the Northern Lights for the first time, if not more wonderful. Lots of great wildlife sightings to report as well. And, from my archives, a humorous piece on What To Do if You Get Cornered at a Cocktail Party by a String Theorist. You never know, It could happen!
