Meet our newest Intern, Junior Herrera. Junior, a resident of Bushwick Brooklyn, is currently enrolled in the Young Adult Internship Program, hosted by Laguardia Community College.  We're so excited to have him, he's become an immediate member of the team!

For the past five years, Big Reuse has been working with the YAIP Job Training program. We've hosted over fifty interns from YAIP Laguardia Community College and YAIP Catholic Charities. The Program is for people ages 15-24 who reside in New York City. Cohorts attend job training classes and receive a paid internship. We're happy to report several members of our staff were direct hires from YAIP.

You can learn more about this program here.

If you're interested in interning at Big Reuse, you can email and if you see Junior around the store, say hello!

Volunteer Days

On Sunday, April 22nd, The Marks JHC of Bensonhust had their annual Mitzvah Day where over two hundred volunteers served throughout the city. We were happy to host nine volunteers between the ages of 15-22 who helped us help the customers, cleaned and organized the store.

We loved having them! They were enthusiastic and we all had a great time! (They also got to buy a stuffed elephant!)

If you have a group who is interested in volunteer opportunities, email

Last week we got this beautiful antique wash stand (you may have seen it on our Instagram) and it was in the store for, maybe, six hours. The couple who bought it are doing a renovation on their house Upstate and showed us this pic of it comforatbly resting in its new home. It's just perfect!

Follow us on Instagram, you never know what you'll see!
