RESEARCH

FUNDING SNAPSHOT.

Seven researchers from the Department of Translational Science and Molecular Medicine have been awarded more than $3.1M in funding from sources including the NIH, Michael J. Fox Foundation, the US Department of Defense, Saint Mary’s Foundation, the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and Weston Brain Institute.

IN-HOME CARE FOR THE ELDERLY.

The Michigan Health Endowment Fund awarded $500,000 to Clare Luz, PhD, assistant professor of family medicine, to train and increase the number of in-home personal care aides, and $375,000 to Joan Ilardo, PhD, director of research initiatives, to teach health care providers, patients and their families how to work together to improve the self-management of chronic health conditions.  MORE NEWS

Former Sparty, Ross Ramsey (CHM ’09), has been voted Best Family Doctor in Huron County. He is assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and practices at Elkton Family Medicine, part of the Scheurer Healthcare Network.
