Happy New Year!
Welcome to our third newsletter,

These newsletters (3 a year) aim to share what the Lord is doing through Created Creative to encourage, give hope and to thank you for partnering in prayer, finance, and/or investigating more about being Created Creative in God’s image. We use creativity to help support people - running workshops and training teams to help facilitate God’s healing in churches, organisations, communities… anywhere. We have an outward focus to enable God to bring His release and healing to hurting people opening up the opportunity of a deeper, sometimes a new relationship with Jesus as we connect heart to heart with Him.

In a world of constant change and challenge where mental health issues are on the increase I have been challenged over the last few months afresh by these concerns that affect so many of us and humbled to see the Lord touch and restore lives in the areas of self-worth and value bringing relief to these crippling conditions. God is amazing and we are excited by the opportunities opening to share His love through Creativity in 2020 both in the UK, overseas and within the persecuted church. In the simplicity God speaks and heals in profound ways.

Creative piece by Don Shephard:

O Faithful Friend

O Faithful Friend
You steadfastly protect
Encourage and Save
Listening always for opportunities to Love
Enabling Great and Holy things
We meet again and again
And circumstances melt
Love and Faithfulness join together
Constantly Healing

Creative piece by a participant:

O Faithful Friend
Stand on the shore
Dare to look
Behold His gaze
Such wondrous love
I am not worthy
But so free
I step into the brave embrace
A glance back
Shore of regrets
Tide sweeps in
He bears our wounds

Charity Registration

We are glad to report the Charity Commission have registered Created Creative as a charity. This is an answer to prayers and an exciting step. We are trusting God will add to our growing team both extra support and charity expertise to enable the work to grow and reach those lives in need of His touch. Please pray with us for this, thank you.

Creativity times in the Middle East

It was great to spend ten days in Israel at the end of October. Amidst a tense, stress-filled and ever-changing Middle Eastern environment, I had the privilege of drawing alongside an inner-healing ministry where we ran a two-day creativity ministry retreat. It was wonderful to work with this local team and see the Lord use the creativity time to bring His hope and healing to precious lives. There was a strong theme of restoration in the testimony times over the ten-day trip. The Lord was at work restoring the years the locusts had eaten. For one person who hadn’t spent time creating since they were a child, God reminded them of the joy He’d placed within them that they hadn’t connected with since childhood. This brought tears and laughter and renewed hope deep within.

Creativity with St Mary’s, Bletchley, Youth Group

Darrel Hofland, St Mary’s Youth leader, writes:

"We are made in the image of a Creator God.  So, in fact, all of us have some sort of Creativity in us. I like it when we get to express and connect with God in different ways. I believe, allowing people to get creative and tell the story of what they have created unlocks something divine and wonderful inside of them. Thank you to the team at Created Creative to allow this creative space for my young people to connect with God and themselves."

Anastasia, One of the young people writes:

"A few weeks ago, myself and some other members of The Loft attended a creative session with Emma and Sophie. The evening was filled with fun and laughter as we created both individual pieces and a collaborative big cross of all our hand prints.

For the individual piece, we used the letters of our names as a starting point. It made me laugh due to the fact I had struggled doing this before - considering the length and the letters of my name (Anastasia) and trying to use different words for each letter than before!

I started writing out the letters of my name, and sat and stared at the page for a while. After flicking through some magazines to try and spark some inspiration, I began to pray and ask God to speak to me. After a few moments, I heard Him say that I’m not just limited to nine words (the number of letters in my name) and that I am so much more than that. I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and His work is indescribable. Words I had not heard said to me before.

This creative session was productive and removed any of our regular distractions such as games and the TV. It was really relaxed and proved very needed for everyone who attended."

Creativity Day at Stanton House, Oxfordshire

Sally Cooper, a participant, writes:

"We arrived at Stanton House on a cold misty autumn morning.  As we drove up to the house and deeper into the surrounding countryside the riches of autumn were on full display. Upon entering Stanton House, it immediately had a homely feel and a sense of God's presence.  We began our day exploring the beautiful surroundings and easily being inspired by God’s wonderful gift of creation.  Once back inside we then expressed our thoughts and feeling through our chosen creativity. Within this time and throughout the day I felt a deepening closeness to God and a renewed sense of peace. Through sharing with each other our variety of creative expressions, it became so apparent how unique we all are in God's eyes. A wonderful day."
