Sojourner Truth: Her Inspiration Lives On
MAD was one proud sponsor of Black History Month Kingston, which included dozens of special citywide events. We collaborated with Bailey Pottery Equipment to present a special artists’ talk and reception following The Sojourner Truth Life Walk. Two renowned sculptors talked about their larger-than-life statues to be installed this year at NYC’s Central Park and Walkway Over the Hudson in Highland, New York.

Kelly A. McGrath: Loving the Challenges of the Artistic Process 
Kelly A. McGrath teaches painting techniques with encaustic and oil paint; sculpture techniques for mold making, modeling and armature work; and monotype printmaking. Her desire to teach emanates from a love of learning. “I believe that teaching and student learning is an exchange that is most effective when participation is active from both sides.”
