Teladoc Mental HealthPolicy Changes for Late Cancellations and No Shows

Teladoc Health is proud to offer access to high-quality, board-certified providers for members seeking mental health care. As demand continues to increase, they want to help ensure the best experience for all members seeking mental health care. Late cancellations and no shows strain already tight provider resources and prevent providers from helping other members who need care.

Effective October 1, 2022, members may be charged a $50 fee* for no-shows and cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled visit. This practice is consistent with other telehealth providers as well as brick-and-mortar providers who charge late cancellation and no-show fees. Teladoc recognizes that this is a new policy and will waive the fee related to a member’s first late cancellation or no-show. *This fee does not apply to members who have Medicare or Medicaid, work for the government or live outside of the United States.

When scheduling a Mental Health visit, members will be asked to save a debit or credit card to their account for this purpose. They will also receive reminders of the cancellation policy when (1) requesting a visit, (2) reviewing their visit information, and (3) requesting to cancel their visit in less than 24 hours.
