The Kids are Back!
Last week we welcomed children back for summer programming! This was a big step in the right direction since our #1 goal is to provide a safe, welcoming place for the community. Although we did offer one-on-one tutoring during the school year, that doesn’t compare to summer outdoor fun and learning with new and old friends.
Kids of all ages (1 ½ - 17) come on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm to garden, do STEM activities and crafts, and enjoy a healthy meal. It is so exciting to see kids engaged in activities and connecting with each other again.

Fighting Hunger One Step at a Time
Can we get a BIG applause for the almost 200 people who participated in our Run for Roberti virtual 5K!
Each step you took brought us closer to running hunger out of Lake County. Having this opportunity to participate with family and friends – from wherever you are – was a fun way to donate and show your support for a great cause and step out of the isolation of this past year. We also gathered at three sites across Lake County and together we walked over 500 miles!

Funds raised support Roberti Community House’s emergency food relief work.
Our Best Shot at a Healthy Future
Roberti Community House’s Community Health Workers (CHWs) continue to provide the important service of searching out and securing vaccination appointments for anyone who wants one. Recently, a family who emigrated from India discovered that RCH was providing food to those in need. They were also urgently trying to get vaccinated and were relieved that RCH could support them in so many ways.
India has been greatly impacted by the pandemic, which opened this family’s eyes to the effects of contracting COVID. They knew that living in close quarters with other families put everyone at risk. They were so thankful for Roberti Community House’s work that they spread the word and brought additional families to RCH. We are now working directly with these additional families, connecting them with the resources they need that they would otherwise not have been able to access. This is just one example of how our grass-roots nature allows us to connect with people who have no where else to turn!
Cooking for a Cause

Roberti Culinary Pathway has been hard at work, preparing lunches and meals for community members. We are experts at taking whatever food and produce has been donated and creating delicious meals. We make sure that hungry families in our community get the high-quality foods they deserve. Our kitchen keeps on cooking!

Half a Million is...So Last Month
Our food rescue and mobilization work has allowed RCH to distribute over 612,000 meals since March 2020. With your support, RCH distributed over 18,000 meals each week during the month of May 2021.

Your continued support allows Roberti Community House to be part of the solution to food waste, and keeps quality food on the tables of our vulnerable neighbors.
Donor Spotlight: BEEF4HUNGER

BEEF4HUNGER, and its founders Greg and Dawn Barnum, have generously provided one pound beef chubs to Roberti Community House throughout the pandemic. This consistent source of nutrition has allowed RCH to provide food-insecure families with delicious protein that they would otherwise not have since beef and cheese too costly for many in our community.

Thank you to the BEEF4HUNGER family for truly making a difference!
